I've had my Winnebago Revel since 2021, and from the beginning, I removed the original rooftop AC unit. It was extremely noisy and only worked when plugged into shore power, which didn’t suit my off-grid lifestyle.
After upgrading to LiFePO4 batteries, I began researching DC-powered AC units. I did a lot of homework comparing options like the Nomadic Cooling and Dometic models. In the end, I chose the Cave unit—which I believe offers equal or even better performance at a more affordable price.
I’ve been running this unit directly off my lithium battery for over a year now and I’m super happy with it. My measurements show max power draw around 50A, and typical consumption between 10–20A. With a 500Ah battery, I can run it 24 hours nonstop, even in very hot conditions.
So far, I’ve experienced zero issues. I highly recommend it!
P.S. The owner and support team have been great—responsive and helpful. One caveat: the user manual wasn’t very clear when I first got it, but I believe they’ve since improved it.
I recently installed this air conditioner in my RV, and it has been a game - changer!
The cooling capacity is outstanding. Even on the hottest summer days, it can quickly cool down the entire interior of the RV, making the environment incredibly comfortable. Whether I'm taking a nap in the afternoon heat or having a meal with family, the cool air is always there.
What truly impressed me is its quiet operation. In the past, the noisy air conditioner in my RV always disrupted the peaceful atmosphere during my trips. But this one is as quiet as a whisper. When it's running, I can hardly notice the sound, which allows me to enjoy the tranquility of nature without any disturbance. It's great for a good night's sleep or for simply relaxing and reading a book.
I highly recommend this RV air conditioner to anyone looking for a top - notch cooling solution for their travels. It has definitely made my RV trips more enjoyable.
We recently replaced our original Comelom AC with the Cave Wave C2. We've been using our Revel for over three years now, and overall, the experience has been great. However, the original AC had issues with high energy consumption, low efficiency, and excessive noise. During our trips, we often had to plan around hot weather, as dealing with heat inside the vehicle was far more challenging than the cold.
For a long time, we had been searching for a better alternative. That search finally ended when we discovered the Cave Wave C2 at an RV show in Northern California last year. After trying it out on-site, we were immediately impressed by its powerful cooling performance. Speaking with the company's founder, Cash, further convinced us — his background as an electrical engineer and his passion for the product assured us that this was exactly what we had been looking for.
We were also deeply impressed by the professionalism of their sales representative, Ms. Fei. Her detailed explanation made it clear that this company is truly dedicated to developing top-notch RV AC solutions.
Our experience with the Cave Wave C2 has been excellent so far. It operates quietly, consumes less power, and performs efficiently, significantly improving our comfort during trips. The unit's design is also sleek and modern — the indoor panel is minimalistic and stylish, while the outdoor unit is half the height of our previous AC, reducing our vehicle's overall height by about 5 inches.
We are extremely satisfied with both the product and the company's service, and we genuinely believe this upgrade was a smart decision.
Got this installed to replace my old Coleman right before my trip to CO for ski, turned it on all night while it was 27F outside, when the heat pump is full on it draws about 600w, I got the 12v system. Kept me warm all night ,was super quiet for sleeping, and saved a tone of hotel money!
Fantastic product and support. They were amazing!!!
